Tarantula Pinning Class

In this class, we will learn about the process of insect pinning utilizing a large tarantula. We will discuss the process to relax (rehydrate) a post-mortem specimen so they can be spread and repositioned for display. You will learn about the tarantula's anatomy, how go create a relaxing chamber, pinning the tarantula, fixing broken appendages, and how to display once it has dried. You will practice pinning a tarantula, which you will then take home to mount in a display once it has dried.

Please note that registration will close three days in advance as the tarantula's relaxing process must begin prior to class. You must register 3 days before the class by 12:00pm.
